Who's Screwing the Sisterhood?

Dear Ms. Madeleine Albright and Ms. Gloria Steinem:

Whether or not I support Hillary Clinton has nothing to do with female-ness -- hers or mine.  Just because I happen to be a woman does not mean I have to blindly support her in a campaign to be President, or anything else.

I find it quite interesting, and frankly insulting, that neither one of you have made similar comments about support for Carly Fiorina or Sarah Palin.  They're both women too.  Where is your support for them in the sisterhood?

I have the right, and in fact, an obligation, to cast my vote for the candidate whom I think is best for the job.  THE CANDIDATE.

No one steps into the voting booth with me and checks to see that the box I ticked is for a person with the same gender as me.

No history, civics, government or good citizen class I have ever taken has mentioned supporting people of the same gender as a requirement for voting.

I admit to not studying every religion out there thoroughly, but I haven't seen or heard of one that believes failing to vote for candidates of the same gender will send you to hell.

And while I haven't actually seen it, so I can't be 100% sure, I am more than reasonably sure my uterus doesn't contain that condition in order to operate as intended.

Not voting for, or not supporting, Hillary Clinton are not a valid reasons to have my XX chromosomes revoked.  Voting for Bernie Sanders or Marco Rubio is not going to make me any less female.  My choices in the voting booth are based on who I feel is the best choice for the job in question not the word/picture on the door of the restroom the candidate in question chooses to use.  And they have nothing to do with my own gender.

Now that we have that cleared up, keep your noses and your DNA tests out of my voting booth.

Yours Very Sincerely,
A Female Who Is Not Supporting Hillary Clinton
