Wanton Nakidity

Sure I'm not the only person who wants to respond to message board threads titled:
"What to wear in…?"
with the ohh-so-flippant remark:
"Clothes!"

Red and Blue Pens

Toyota's new advertising campaign proclaims that the company is spending $1 Million an hour in research toward safety of their cars.  I will be the first to admit that I have problems with numbers over 1,000, but even so, at $1 million an hour, at the end of 3 days, that's $72 million, at the end of a week, it's $168 million, at the end of a month, it's $720 Million, at the end of a year, it's $8,760 million ($8,670,000,000).  No matter how you cut it or how you represent it, that's a big number, and many, many dollars.  Somehow I doubt Toyota has really committed that much money towards safety research.

I do not doubt that Toyota is spending a good bit of money toward safety, but I do doubt the veracity of their claims as far as the amount the company has dedicated toward research.

Red and Blue Pens

This morning, I was listening to a Fox News story on the obesity epidemic in America and the expert that was being interviewed quoted these statistics:

"1 out of every 3 children in the US is overweight.
but 1 out of every 1/2 adult is."

Does anyone else see a problem with this math?
I am not sure which is the sadder comment on the state of the US as a whole.

Red and Blue Pens

Why is it the Fox News ticker can type out completely the word comprehensive but finds the need to abbreviate the word spokesman to spox?

Red and Blue Pens

If you were a carpenter and I were a lady, would you axe me to marry you anyway?
