Day 10 – Favorite classic book
The Three Musketeers.
I discounted anything I had to read for any class. I think required reading is an immediate death sentence for any book. And most classics that English departmental curricula force upon students are crap no one would read otherwise. I read The Three Musketeers because I wanted to. The Disney movie was coming out, and the local Wal-Mart had the movie tie-in edition on sale for like $5.00 and I thought, why not? I tore through it in three days when I should have really been studying for finals. I fell in love with Athos and learned to really care for Porthos and d'Artagnan. I count them as treasured friends.
